Exploring Our Way: Our WalknTours Experience

There is nothing we love better when visiting a new city than to go on a ghost tour. A good ghost tour will feature an expert local guide who provides fascinating stories of a city’s history with a few frights along the way.

But sometimes we don’t feel like tagging along with a crowd or straining to hear a tour guide over the hustle and bustle of city life.

This was the case on our recent trip to Savannah, Georgia, when we wanted to take in the historic locations and spooky sites of the city all on our own. If you also love to explore a city at your own pace, you need to check out the WalknTours app.

Grounded In History

Savannah is one of our favorite Southern cities, with its preserved historic architecture and relaxed coastal vibe. There is plenty to see in Savannah, and plenty of tours to help you see it. You can choose from bus tours, ghost tours, historic tours, biking tours, limo tours, Segway tours…. the list goes on.

Walking is the most thorough way to see a city, and Savannah’s grid-patterned layout makes it easy to explore on your own, even someone as geographically-challenged as I am! (I could get lost in my own backyard.)

Using the tour app from WalknTours

That’s why WalknTours is the perfect tour experience app.

WalknTours is an ideal app for anyone looking to explore a city on their own. It offers a wide range of self-guided tours that showcase the best of the city, from iconic landmarks to hidden gems.

The app’s user-friendly interface makes it easy to search for the tour that fits your interests and book it in just a few taps.

Once you’ve booked your tour, you can access it on the go. Not only does it direct you to locations to explore, the tours are narrated with interesting facts, and there are plenty of photos and stories to keep you entertained.

We enjoyed the proper British accent of the Ghosts of Savannah tour narrator as well as the sweet Southern drawl of the Old Squares of Savannah guide. The tours were very accurate and the bonus tidbits of information were very entertaining.

Strolling Through Savannah

The Ghosts of Savannah tour takes you for a spooky stroll around Savannah’s haunted historic district. You get to explore some of Savannah’s most eerily-active locations, including the famously haunted Moon River Brewing Company, and the history and hauntings of its iconic buildings.

Get to know the well-known spirits that still call Savannah home, like the charming ghost of Little Gracie in Johnson Square and the Civil War soldiers that can be seen walking the floors of the Marshall House.

Travel Tip: Make sure you remember to take plenty of pictures while visiting each location – you may catch a glimpse of something supernatural!

The Old Squares of Savannah tour takes you on a closer exploration of the city’s iconic squares. These are some of the oldest and most historical areas in Savannah, and they contain a wealth of knowledge and legends about our 13th colony beneath their green canopies.

You will hear fascinating stories and little-known facts about the grounds, monuments, and surrounding mansions of these original squares with this well-narrated tour.

We enjoyed both of these tours very much, especially the convenience and ease of its self-paced touring style. The WalknTours app is ideal for anyone looking to explore a city in their own way.

WalknTours is a relaxing, easy way for city tourists to learn about their surroundings, but if you live here already, it can help you explore parts of your city with new eyes!
